Learn about the man who bore the wounds of Christ

St. Pio of Pietrelcina, Pray For us

Spiritual Communion

My Jesus,

I believe that You

are present in the Most Holy Sacrament

I love You above all things,

and I desire to receive You into my soul.

Since I cannot at this moment

Receive You sacramentally,

Come at least spiritually into my heart.

I embrace You as if You were already there

And I unite myself wholly to You.

Never permit me to be separated from You.

Regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19) –

Updated March 23, 2020

As COVID-19 begins to spread in Missouri because of community transmission, the following additional measures are now in effect for Coronation and St. Matthew’s and all parishes in the Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph until April 24th:

- All public Masses are suspended.  This includes the extension of the dispensation by the Bishop for all the faithful from the obligation to participate at Mass on Sunday.

- The faithful are encouraged to celebrate Sunday as a domestic church by taking time to pray together as a household.

-  Public celebrations of Stations of the Cross, in-person Bible Study Groups (or other devotional gatherings) are suspended.

What This Means for Coronation Parish:

-  The Church will remain open during this time, but only for private prayer and reflection.  The Church will be open between 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM Monday through Thursday.

- Parish Office Hours remain unchanged.

- Fr. Haake will celebrate the Masses (along with the assigned intentions), yet offered privately in his chapel.

- At this time, there are no scheduled weddings currently affected by this announcement

-  Funerals will continue to be held during this time, in collaboration with funeral homes to ensure that, per diocesan directives, the celebration will occur with “only the minister and immediate family members.” On-site funeral lunches will not be held during this period.

-  Baptisms will continue to be celebrated, but outside of a large communal celebration.  Families with scheduled baptisms will be contacted to confer on/confirm times.

Fr. Haake (Updated 3/25)

-From the chancery: "At this time, through April 24th, Bishop has directed that – outside of danger of death situations for viaticum/anointings – there be NO consideration of "drive-through" confessions, adoration, Benediction, Masses, and so on through April 24th.

- Individual confessions may be heard around the diocese. Please sign-up for a Flocknote account (below) to access our Confession schedule during the time of suspension.

- Priests and Extraordinary Ministers of Communion are permitted to continue their sacramental ministry to the seriously ill or those in danger of death.
